Special Inspections

Salamon Engineering is a Department of Buildings registered Special Inspection Agency.

​

Special inspections are ‘inspection of selected materials, equipment, installation, fabrication, erection or placement of components and connections, to ensure compliance with approved construction  documents and referenced standards. Special inspections must be performed by Special Inspectors on behalf of a registered Special Inspection Agency (SIA).

The design professional who is the applicant of Record for a Department of Buildings approved application determines the required Special Inspections based on the work being done.

Common Special Inspections include:

• Masonry

• Sprinkler systems 

• Mechanical systems

• Energy code compliance

• Fire-rated inspections

• Structural inspections (e.g., welding quality and stability)
